Key Facts
- Succeeding the current TBM 930 as the upper-end product in Daher’s TBM family, the TBM 940 marks important steps forward in further upgrading aircraft performance, safety and comfort. The TBM 940’s launch was announced today during the Safety Seminar meeting of the TBM Owners and Pilots Association (TBMOPA), held in Pompano Beach, Florida, USA.
- “The TBM 940 redefines the ultimate private aircraft: user-friendly, safe and efficient for both pilots and passengers,” said Nicolas Chabbert, Senior Vice President of the Daher Airplane Business Unit. “This newest TBM family member underscores our firm commitment to constant improvement for the ownership and operational experience with our very fast turboprop aircraft.”
- One key TBM 940 feature is its automated throttle – the first ever installed on a standard production turboprop aircraft weighing less than 12,500 lbs. (5.7 metric tons). Fully integrated with the autopilot, this single power lever autothrottle automatically adjusts the aircraft’s speeds based on the preset flight profile – from climb-out to the landing approach.
- In addition to reducing pilot workload, the autothrottle enables a TBM 940 to be operated to the edge of approved power regimes for its Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-66D turboprop engine, providing optimum performance and efficiency from the powerplant.
- Engine parameters display is also simplified through an intuitive single smart gauge.
Key Features TBM 940:
- Passengers - 5 Pax
- Range - 1,730 Nautical Miles
- Cruise Speed - 330 Knots
- Ceiling - 10,500 Feet
- Fuel Burn - n/a GPH
Daher has unveiled the upgraded TBM family aircraft, which replaces the TBM930. The new single-engine tupoprop is almost identical to the TBM930, but has a number of differences, such as:
- Automatic engine thrust control
- Automatic engine protection in all modes
- Automatic anti-icing system
- Revamped passenger compartment design, with USB outlets for charging gadgets
- Heated passenger seats with adjustable degree of heating
- Hangers for outerwear in luggage compartment
"One of the key features of the TBM940 is an automatic throttle arm - the first ever installed on a production turboprop aircraft weighing less than 5.7 tons. Fully integrated with the autopilot, the throttle arm automatically adjusts the aircraft's speed based on a given flight profile - from climbing to landing approach. In addition to reducing pilot workload, the automatic throttle allows the TBM940 to be operated at the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-66D engine power limit, ensuring optimum performance and efficiency for the powerplant," says the company.
The aircraft is equipped with a Garmin G3000 touchscreen glass instrument panel and an optional electronic assistant system. The electronic assistant is designed as a safety monitoring system for operational flight conditions. It includes a sensor and angle-of-attack calculator, electronic stabilization, and a speed loss protection system.
The aircraft also features an emergency descent mode in autopilot mode. In case of cabin depressurization and pilot's inactivity, the aircraft is automatically brought to a safe altitude of 15,000 feet. In addition, voice signals received new audible tones that notify of stall, excessive speed, landing gear position and use of oxygen equipment.
The new aircraft has a maximum range of 1,730 nautical miles.

Aircraft manufacture year
In our catalog of private jets, Daher-Socata TBM 940 aircraft of various years of manufacture are presented. Most clients are very sensitive to this parameter and pay special attention to it. For our part, we consider it our duty to help you understand this issue. Obviously, the newer and fresher the aircraft, the more reliable, modern, and comfortable it is. However, the cost of renting such a business jet will be much higher than that of a model with 5-8 years of operation. If your budget is limited and you want to use it more rationally, we advise you to pay attention to models that are not older than 10 years and are actively used. The fact is that extremely high safety standards have been formed in business aviation. Business jets undergo diagnostics of all systems, maintenance, and regular checks. Often these standards are much higher than in conventional civil aviation. That is why TBM 940 aircraft with a production year of more than 3-5 years are technically not inferior to new models released this year.
The Cyprus Private Jets air broker offers its customers only proven and reliable options. We study in detail all the nuances, take into account the life of the aircraft, check the technical documents, and much more. By contacting us to arrange a flight, you can be sure that the business jet will be in perfect condition, with all regulatory documents. The online catalog includes both this year's novelties and older variations of the Daher-Socata TBM 940 model range. A personal consultant will help you choose the right option, compare business jets and tell you about all the nuances of specific models.

Features of a private jet
If you want to rent a Daher-Socata TBM 940 private jet, use the online form on the website or contact our operators in any way convenient for you (phone, email, or messengers). Italian Private Jets air brokers will be happy to answer all your questions and help you book this aircraft in the layout you need. Our databases contain business jets of this model of various years of production - the most recent aircraft released this year are available to customers. However, it should be borne in mind that the newer the aircraft is, the higher its flight cost will be. At the same time, if you were offered a five- or even ten-year-old TBM 940, do not be afraid. Private planes undergo very thorough maintenance, and such an age of the liner does not in any way affect the level of flight safety. Many customers use the analogy with cars - the older it is, the more it will break. This is partly true, but the level of service and technical standards of business jets are radically different. We offer you only 100% proven options. Therefore, air brokers often offer models which are 5-10 years old in order to save your budget and make the flight more financially profitable. However, if you want to fly exclusively on the new Daher-Socata TBM 940 - no problem, we will find a suitable option and help you book it.
French aircraft manufacturer Daher has introduced the next iteration of its popular TBM 900 line of high-speed, single-engine, turboprop business jets. Twenty-eight years after the first generation of the TBM 700, a new member has joined the family - the TBM 940.
The upgraded version will replace the TBM 930, introduced in 2016. TBM 930 as the flagship of the family. Unlike the previous version, the TBM 940 is equipped with an automatic thrust control system, improved automatic de-icing system, and a redesigned cabin. The automatic thrust control system is the first to be installed on a single-engine turboprop aircraft weighing less than 5,675 kg. It will be able to correct the aircraft's speed based on a pre-set flight path profile. The automatic thrust control will also allow the aircraft owner to safely operate the turboprop within the thrust limits of Pratt & Whitney Canada's PT6A-66D engine.
In addition, the TBM 940's advanced de-icing system will automatically activate if no pilot action is taken when ice formation is detected.
Interior
Meanwhile, the cabin has been outfitted with upgraded seats with a 115V power outlet and USB connector (the aircraft now has nine - six for passengers and three for the pilot), enhanced thermal insulation for the fuselage side walls and a center shelf with extra storage space for personal items.
Empty Legs flights
As the experience of European air transportation shows, airlines are often forced to ferry empty planes from one point to another. In a situation where the client orders a flight, and the airline performs it, then after the completion of the flight, the aircraft must return to its home base. This situation also arises when initially the aircraft is ordered for a flight from point "A" to point "B", while the business jet is located at point "C" - that is, it makes a technical approach to point "A". In order not to fly in vain, operators sell such "fixed" flights at significant discounts.
Our database contains many Empty Legs flights operated by Daher-Socata TBM 940 private jets throughout Europe. You can leave a request to our managers, who will monitor the destinations you are interested in and help you quickly book the right option at the best price.
