The Dornier 228 is a twin-engine aircraft for regional airlines that was produced by the German company Dornier GmbH (later Fairchild-Dornier, DASA) from 1981 to 1998.

Features of a private jet
The Dornier Do 228 is a twin-engine turboprop for local airlines, produced by the German company Dornier from 1981 to 1998.
The development of the aircraft was preceded by extensive testing of a Dornier-designed wing with a supercritical Do A-5 profile.
